Tricia Winters is a dedicated public relations and education professional with deep roots in the Verde Valley community. A proud product of the Cottonwood-Oak Creek School District (COCSD), Tricia has spent her career fostering strong connections between schools, families, and the broader community.

Her early professional journey began in the publishing industry, where she spent a decade after completing business courses at Yavapai College. Driven by a passion for education, she transitioned into the field over 20 years ago, first serving as a special education coordinator before joining the Cottonwood-Oak Creek School District in 2006 as a school secretary at Tavasci Elementary School.

Tricia’s leadership and commitment to education have since propelled her into key roles within the district, where she currently serves as the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent, Governing Board Secretary, and Public Relations Officer. She has also led student engagement initiatives, spending five years as a Student Council leader and serving as a 21st Century After-School Club leader for several years.

Her dedication has earned her notable accolades, including being named the 2023 Sisterhood Connection Woman of the Year and receiving the Doralee “Terri” Wentsch Lifelong Educator & Community Member Award.

Tricia’s mission is to provide exceptional support to parents, staff, and community members while ensuring professional and policy-driven assistance to academic programs. She is passionate about promoting the district’s innovative educational initiatives, stating, “I'm truly excited and proud of the wonderful things happening in our district with so many new programs that support experiential student learning opportunities.”

Beyond her professional commitments, Tricia is deeply involved in community service. She has served on various faith-based committees, volunteered in local schools, and held leadership roles, including serving as a Board Member for a local charter school, Past President of Verde Valley Leadership, and a current Board Member of the Yavapai County Education Foundation.

In her free time, Tricia enjoys spending time with her family and pets, off-roading, traveling, and exploring her creative passions.
