Exciting Update from COCSD: Transition to Nutrislice and Important Information for Families
We are excited to share some great news about COCSD’s food services! Starting this school year, we will transition to Nutrislice, a new digital menu solution. Nutrislice will make it easier for families and students to interact with our meal programs, offering a more streamlined and user-friendly experience.
Nutrislice, developed by Sodexo At School, provides seamless web and mobile access to our menus. We’re making this change because our current app, So Happy, will no longer be supported after the 2023-2024 school year. Nutrislice offers features that So Happy doesn’t, ensuring we provide up-to-date information on nutritional and dietary needs for students, parents, and school nurses.
Nutrislice includes a range of features designed to improve user experience. You will have access to detailed nutritional information and calculators, which can help you make informed food choices. The system allows you to filter menus based on allergens and dietary requirements, and it supports multiple languages, offering translation in 50 different languages. Additionally, Nutrislice enables easy navigation between different school locations and menu types and provides printable menus with translation options available. To access Nutrislice, download the app from the Apple Store or Google Play, or visit our district’s website at COCSD Food Services- (https://www.cocsd.us/page/food-services).
We’re also happy to announce that COCSD students will receive free breakfast and lunch until the 2027-2028 school year. However, there will be a charge for a second meal—$2.00 for breakfast and $3.00 for lunch. Families need to complete the new Alternative Form for Income-Based Eligibility to help us secure federal funding and competitive grants like the 21st Century Afterschool program. This ensures we can continue offering after-school clubs at no cost to families.
The 21st CCLC afterschool program will be available at four district schools. We’re proud of the incredible work being done for the community after school hours. COCSD has been nationally recognized for the opportunities we provide for kids!

Families must fill out the online registration form to access a variety of no-cost in-person programs that run after school, Monday through Thursday, at each of our four campuses. The program focuses on academic achievement along with a broad array of additional services, programs, and activities.
Please complete a form for EACH child attending clubs. Contact your school's front office for more details before enrollment. Note that there may be a waiting list, so register as soon as enrollment opens at your child's school.
We also encourage you to use the ParentVue app, which offers various services to streamline communication and information management. Through ParentVue, you can connect with teachers, track grades, manage attendance, update contact information, and complete essential yearly paperwork. The app also allows you to modify bus route information and access other features that support your active involvement in your child’s education.
We are excited about these improvements and confident they will enhance your experience with our district. Thank you for your continued support and partnership in ensuring the success and well-being of our students.
Warm Regards,
Jessica Vocca, Superintendent
